I know nothing about you but what I read in your posts and I have to say they paint a pretty sad portrait of you.
The culture war is a little like the war on terror, for years only one side was fighting. The American traditions that brought unheard of prosperity to the largest numbers of people in history have been quietly undermined by the liberal left of this country since the 60's. It has only been since the shameless presidency of Bill Clinton that conservatives have awoken to the damage done.
Now, as with the war on terror, we are fighting back and praying that it is not too late to save this great nation.
In all things someone's world view will prevail. I don't care to force you to pray, but, you and others like you wish to deny my right to pray when and where I wish. For example, if a school's sports team wishes to pray before a game, they cannot. If a valedictorian wishes to thank God and declare Jesus their personal savior in a speech they earned the right to give, they may no t do so. If a town's people wish to have a creche celebrating their believe in Jesus as part of their Christmas decorations, they may not do so. So which side wishes to force their beliefs on the other?
If I believe that marriage between one man and one woman, is a sacred union and a societal cornerstone, why do I not have the right to stand up for that and to see that OUR government supports it. I am not a homophobe, what they do is their business, but it is my society too, and their agenda is harmful to the common good. But, you and others like you use the courts to force your beliefs on all of us. Again, which side is the one using force.
If I see that the educational system is failing our children, is it not my right to speak out and try to find a solution? Throwing money has obviously not worked. As a parent, and a taxpayer do I not have the right to an opinion as to what is taught and how. Typical liberal thinking that says, we know best, so shut up and let us do what we know is right. Again, forcing us to accept what you think should be taught and how.
If I believe that the government is not allowed under the constitution to force me to pay income taxes to subsidize medical research that uses humans as guinea pigs, do I not have the right to say so? Hitler and Mengele used humans to research their sick theories regarding the perfect race of humans. How is that any different from the use of humans by medical researchers now to try to prevent all illness, deformities and even death? But, the liberals tell me that they are the compassionate ones and I should again, shut up and let them do what they know is right.
If I believe that in America, someone who works hard will have a better life that someone who sits back and lets others take care of them, am I wrong to encourage the former and discourage the latter? Is it greedy for one to reap the rewards they have earned through hard work? According to the liberals, yes and again I should just shut up and let them do what they know is right.
If I believe that the content of most music, art, movies and television of today is a cesspool degrading women, minorities, children, religious believers and others, do I not have the right to say that I do not want this to be so commonplace that I need to be constantly vigilant with what my children are exposed to. Now, first let me say that I do so willingly(that personal responsibility thing), but why should I be forced to? Liberals say there is a right to produce this filth and I should just shut up and accept that this is what the public wants. Forcing their view once again.
Are you beginning to get the picture, Lily? Liberals are angry that their unfettered, and unchallenged control of society is over. Just like the terrorists they are lashing out because we have dared to fight back.
